QVC, LAX and American Idol

Okay, so I bet you are wondering what those 3 words above have to do with each other, right? Well, let me explain....

QVC...This past week I received a call from Sean De Simone, a New York Casting Director. In a nutshell he told me that I had been selected to fly to L.A to meet with a couple of talent executives from QVC regarding a QVC Host position. I later found out that 6,000 people had sent in their audition tapes to become a QVC Host. After about 5 seconds of thinking about it I said yes and flew to L.A the next day to meet Jack, Sue and Sean. After spending 3 hours with them and 5 other very talented ladies, I am not so sure that I "wowed" them. I did my best, but I'm not sure that I showed off enough of my over the top personality. I left feeling that if they called, it would be very exciting, and if they did not....well, it was just not the right move for me. I should find out mid-March so stay tuned.

LAX and American Idol...So after my QVC audition, the shuttle brought me back to LAX where I had a 2 hour wait. I first noticed some camera guy chasing a "famous" musician (all I know is his name was John and he was in his 60's)through security, then noticed that because he was "famous" he was able to bypass the long line and go ahead of everybody else. Okay, now that really made me made. What makes him so dang special that he can just take cuts in front of all of us "normal" people and move on with his day. I'm sure we all have something just as important waiting for us on the other side of the security checkpoint, right? So after, I calmed down a bit I noticed a group starting to form around another smaller group. Well, to my surprise it was a couple of American Idol winners (bodyguards) and their families getting ready to fly home until the next taping. You could tell that they were not quite used to the instant fame, and seemed a little surprised every time someone came up to get an autograph or picture. You know I always used to think that I would never be one of "those" people asking for a picture with an A-List or even B-List celebrity, but I could not help myself. All I could think about was how cool it would be to get a picture with Danny Gokey and Michael Saver for my blog...so here they are. Enjoy.

Danny Gokey seems like a solid guy, in addition to the fact that he's a great singer

How fun...Danny Gokey is one of my favorites. The more you Blog the more you look for things to write about and take pictures of. It can be very addicting.

My son decided to buzz his head, forgot to put the attachment on and had a HUGE bald spot. My first thought, "GRAB YOUR CAMERA...this has to go on my blog."

Hey, wonder if the famous musician was John McEuen from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band? Good friend, and he lives in LA. Did he have a gray beard and long hair, and was he tall and lankey? www.johnmceuen.com
